The Weekend Of Action comes on the heels of a new ad campaign and press conference earlier today hosted by victims of sexual violence at the future site of the Surviviors Memorial at Boom Island Park in Minneapolis. Erin Maye Quade, one of the speakers said:
“The #MeToo Movement seeks to raise awareness of the pervasiveness of sexual assault and abuse in society, and seeks to eradicate it. The only victims of the #MeToo Movement are sexual abuse and harassment in society. I am a lifelong progressive. And I have yet to come across another “progressive,” besides Mr. Melton-Meaux who have fought to paint corporations as the victims of the #MeToo Movement.”
Rep. Omar also released a new TV ad highlighting Mr. Melton-Meaux’s work protecting corporations against discrimination lawsuits from working women and defending the use of non-disclosure agreements by employers against victims of sexual harassment and abuse.
