Congresswoman Ilhan Omar Announces Slate of Endorsements from Seven Mayors in CD-5

MINNEAPOLIS— Ilhan Omar for Congress today released a slate of endorsements from seven mayors in Minnesota’s 5th Congressional District. The support underscores the Congresswoman’s proven track record of effective leadership, commitment to co-governance, and her unwavering dedication to representing the diverse needs of her constituents.

The mayors endorsing Congresswoman Omar include Mayor Scott Lund of Fridley, Mayor Amáda Márquez Simula of Columbia Heights, Mayor April Graves of Brooklyn Center, Mayor Mary Supple of Richfield, Mayor Bill Blonigan of Robbinsdale, Mayor Nadia Mohamed of St. Louis Park, and Mayor Terry Wiggin of Hilltop.

Her unwavering support for the Inflation Reduction Act has brought crucial resources to CD 5,” said Mayor Scott Lund of the City of Fridley. “Through her collaboration with President Biden, she has successfully secured new investments for the Cummins Electrolyzer Facility, benefiting over 1000 workers. I wholeheartedly endorse Congresswoman Omar for re-election, as she continues to prioritize the needs of our community and deliver tangible results.”

“I have worked with Representative Omar since being elected mayor in 2021 and have witnessed her leadership firsthand,” said Mayor Amáda Márquez Simula of the City of Columbia Heights. “She is a labor leader, and an advocate for a better, more equitable society. I am endorsing Rep. Omar for re-election.”
