Congresswoman Ilhan Omar Has Biggest Fundraising Quarter Ever—Raising Nearly $1.7 Million in the First Quarter of 2024

April 9, 2024

MINNEAPOLIS— Ilhan Omar for Congress today released details of the campaign’s 2024 first quarter fundraising, with nearly $1.7 million raised, and over $2.1 million cash on hand—the highest ever raised by the Congresswoman and one of the highest in Congress.

“Our campaign will always put people at the center of our work,” said Congresswoman Ilhan Omar. “I’m proud to have raised nearly $1.7 million last quarter—the most I have ever raised. More than ninety-eight percent of our donations were under 200 dollars. I am thankful and proud of the grassroots support from small-dollar donations from over 50,000 individuals.

“This strong grassroots support will help us fight to ensure this congressional seat belongs and remains with the people of Minnesota’s 5th Congressional District – not special interest groups, Republican billionaires, or right-wing SuperPACs. Together, we will fight to protect reproductive freedom, restore our democracy, combat the climate crisis, and guarantee Medicare for All.”

  • Rep. Omar raised $1,698,211.5 in Quarter 1 of 2024.

  • Rep. Omar had 56,022 total contributions with an average gift of $31.79.

  • The overwhelming majority—98%—of contributions were under $200.
