Rep. Ilhan Omar Has Biggest Fundraising Quarter Ever—Raising Over $1.6 Million in the Fourth Quarter of 2023

MINNEAPOLIS–Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) released details on her campaign’s fourth quarter fundraising Tuesday, with a total of more than $1.64 million raised—the highest ever raised by the Congresswoman and one of the highest in Congress. Ninety-eight percent of Rep. Omar’s donations were under $200.

“I am proud of our ability to run a grassroots campaign supported by small-dollar contributions. For too long, Washington has catered to lobbyists and special interests, rather than the American people,” Rep. Omar said. “By putting people at the center of our democracy, we can get big money out of politics, and create the transformative change we need to restore our democracy, tackle the climate crisis, and protect our reproductive rights. While Republicans and their right-wing special interests continue to target me, I will continue to mobilize our grassroots army to ensure that we mobilize Democrats across the state and keep Minnesota blue in 2024.”

“We know people donate to candidates who champion policies that deliver for our communities and families,” said Elianne Farhat, Executive Director of TakeAction Minnesota. “Ilhan is one of those leaders and it is no surprise to see everyday people investing in her campaign. I am thrilled to see grassroots donations for Congresswoman Omar match the energy we’re seeing on the ground for her re-election. The 5th District is the turnout engine of Minnesota. And Ilhan is investing the resources to build a stellar team, turn out a record number of voters, and keep Minnesota blue.”
