Rep. Omar Secures DFL Endorsement 

MINNEAPOLIS – Congresswoman Ilhan Omar released the following statement after securing the DFL endorsement on the first ballot at the Fifth District convention today. 

“I am honored to secure the DFL endorsement. The delegates who voted today are the backbone of our community, and their endorsement shows that Minnesota’s Fifth District is committed to progress across our state and country. I take this responsibility seriously, and I am committed to working hard to earn the vote of every constituent across my district. I am especially proud to have received the endorsement on the first ballot – showing that our coalition keeps growing.

“We will never stop fighting for the values of the Fifth District. Values like standing up for working and middle class Minnesotans and taking on corporate greed. Values like fighting for a more just and peaceful world. Values like reproductive freedom. Values like making sure every single Minnesotan can thrive, regardless of who they love, how they pray, the color of their skin, or their political views. We will not stop using our power in Congress to make life better for every single resident of the Fifth District.
